For those who have chosen chastity, here is an interesting news story from USAToday that I think affirms the chaste lifestyle:
There’s a worrisome uptick in the incidence of certain head and neck cancers among middle-aged and even younger Americans, and some experts link the trend to a rise in the popularity of oral sex over the past few decades.
That’s because the human papillomavirus (HPV) is a major trigger for these cancers, and HPV can be transmitted through this type of sexual activity.
Questions
1. If you’ve chosen chastity, how does this make you feel?
2. If you haven’t chosen chastity, how does this make you feel? Does this worry you?

A study published this week in the journal Pediatrics says ten percent of teens who said they were abstinent also tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease. But an advocate for abstinence says the sex-education curricula in most schools could be blamed for those numbers.
Of the 964 teens who tested positive for an STD, 118 claimed they had not had sexual intercourse in the last 12 months, and 60 said they had never had intercourse in their lives. The study, based on its findings, recommends that all teens receiving clinical services — regardless if they self-report as being sexually abstinent — be tested for prevalent STDs such as gonorrhea and chlamydia.

This is really enlightening and frightening! Parents of daughters, watch this. Especially read the text that scrolls on the page part way through the video.
Reality TV is a sewer. And I don’t just think that because I’m an EEEEEVIL right wing curmudgeon. Even the guy’s at the E! network television series The Soup think so.
[T]he show [The Soup] generally reinforces traditionalist values. Bear with me here. Admittedly, when partisan snipes sneak into the script, they’re usually aimed at Republicans. And yes, I’m aware that Keith Olbermann is a huge Soup fan, which does give me pause. Nevertheless, the vast majority of The Soup’s content features McHale flogging the entertainment industry for its gutter values. He repeatedly rips celebrities over their insufferable self-importance-a theme that conservatives can appreciate. (That McHale reserves a special brand of antipathy for Tyra Banks wins him extra points). He also blasts the depraved, over-sexed “stars” of reality shows who seem willing to jump into bed with whomever it takes just to extend their 15 minutes of fame by a few seconds. His frequent references to sexually transmitted diseases are always good for a chuckle, but they also subtly remind the audience of how disgusting promiscuity and its consequences can be. While many of these dreadful shows actually celebrate the ignorance of those who appear on them, McHale will have none of it; Read more…
A new data analysis from the Centers for Disease Control shows, once again, that homosexual intercourse is hazardous to the health:
The Centers for Disease Control recently released information from a data analysis regarding the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Presented at the CDC’s National STD Prevention Conference, the data indicated that the rate of new HIV cases among men who have sex with men (referred to in shorthand as MSM) is over 44 times that of other men.
Has this resulted in loud warnings from the media? Read more…
I recently asked a black pastor friend of mine to consider this hypothetical question: Where do you think the black community would be today, if the Sexual Revolution had not happened at the same time as the Civil Rights movement of the 1960′s? Think about it: a functioning African American family, black men inside the family, collaborating with their wives to raise their children together, as they had done for generations, but doing all that in the post-segregation era.
Now the CDC offers this report on another facet of the sexual revolution that hits blacks disporportionately: Read more…
