NEA Drag Queen Caucus???!!!

When this was brought to my attention (look on the third page) all I could think is “You have got to be kidding…”

But because we are by now such a thoroughly (indeed absurdly) non-judgmental, morally neutral, nonsensically ‘tolerant’, hyper-inclusive, politically correct society there are bound to be those who insist that the National ‘Education’ Association simply must allow the Drag Queens among them to have their own caucus if they are also willing to countenance the NEA Christian Prayer Service Caucus, the Catholic Caucus, the Creation Science Educators Caucus, the Jewish Caucus, or the People of Faith Caucus; as they in fact do.

And because our culture has to a significant extent succumbed to nihilism, some will also dismissively declare, “So what? How much more cynical is that than the Bourbon Caucus or the (apparently) competing No Cocktail Left Behind caucus? Or does it sound any sillier than the Princess Caucus?” And the NEA does also consent to those as well, after all…

Some will even assert (mindlessly, if you ask me) that the NEA Drag Queen Caucus is adequately counterbalanced by their Ex-Gay Educators Caucus.

And even I can understand how the Lesbian & Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Caucus could be relevant to advocating the ‘rights’ of it’s members in the workplace.

But be honest with your self. Are any of those others in any way morally comparable to a Drag Queen Caucus? So now we are to be compelled to provide our children to cross-dressers so they can act out their ‘sexuality’ in front of a captive (and compliantly impressionable) audience?

For an organization that purports to be attending to the education and care of all of our young to indulge such a bent is beyond cynical. It’s just plain malicious.

Take a deep breath, and lighten up. The worst thing the average drag queen will do is show someone how properly apply mascara, not physically assault them with mascara.

The NEA is caught in the grip of the fear of being anything but indiscriminate. But boorish and self-indulgent? Go for it.

Lighten up? Where does the immorality end? Where do we draw the line in what is acceptable for our children? We have already had states that allowed the dispersion of condoms to first graders and banned books that purport a mother’s unconditional love. Are we to continue down this road? How much longer until the age of consent is lowered from 16 to 6? How much longer before catamites are popular and pornography a group event in the average home? You may think that I am jumping overboard but look at what Rome was before it fell. The road to destruction is broad and lined with self-indulgence. Before Rome went under, ever depravity was freely practiced and only those who clung to morals and upright beliefs were persecuted. I live in a free country and I respect the freedoms of others, but do we need to parade our every secret and private thing in front of our children?

Relax. Next will come the Felons Caucus, a group dedicated to influencing schools to teach that crime is merely an alternative lifestyle. Then there’s the Muslim Family Values Caucus. It would advocate that wives and young women need to be reduced to chattel status by the men in their lives for their own good. After all we wouldn’t want the NEA to come across as non-inclusive would we? @nerdygirl

How about the NEA explaining to its membership how there’s no conflict between the lifestyle promoted by the Gay & Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender caucus and state and federal criminal laws? After all factions of the GLBT want the legal right to “get it on” with little girls and boys. @chinherder
