Gay by choice?

Dr. J’s recent post brought to mind this article.  It explores the subject as to whether homosexuality is inborn and immutable.  The article answers that the true answer is more complicated than activists on either side of the issue would have you believe.

Why are so many young girls lesbians?

This story is SOOO interesting for SOOO many reasons.
1. Dr Sax shows that sexual orientation is different for women than for men, disturbing the common theory that sex differences are completely socially constructed, and that men and women are completely interchangeable.
2. Dr. Sax shows that sexual orientation is much more fluid for women than for men, disturbing the common theory (which is morphing into a legal doctrine) that sexual orientation is an immutable characteristic, comparable to race. Read more…

Impact of School Curriculum Addressing Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

In May 2009, the Alameda Unified School Board was considering the adoption of a new curriculum for K-12 that would promote acceptance and normalization of homosexual and transgender behaviors under the guise of anti-bullying. A group of concerned parents asked me to review and comment on the proposed curriculum and its impact on children. Despite the evidence of potential harm, and over the strong objections of many parents, the board adopted the proposed curriculum. Read more…
