The “INVISIBLE” March for Life

January 27th, 2012 Comments off

Question for the media: Are pro-lifers invisible?

When 300,000 people show up for the March for Life in Washington, D.C., the media mentions next to nothing. When the multitude is especially youthful and upbeat, the liberal media says they’re mostly old and tired.

Watch this live footage and see the truth for yourself:

UPDATE: Four Years in a Row, No Story on the March for Life in D.C.

While tiny left-wing protests often garner significant news coverage in the Times, the paper for the last two years has completely ignored in print the large March for Life that takes place in Washington every January on the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade making abortion legal.

Before the Monday march, the Times contented itself with a single sentence in a blog post Saturday night by Ashley Southall about Obama flashing his pro-choice credentials, “Obama Marks Anniversary of Roe v. Wade.” The quote marks suggest Southall even flubbed the name of the rally (it’s “March for Life,” not “Right to Life”), a small sign of the media’s general ignorance of the conservative movement.

The president’s statement came as anti-abortion demonstrators began arriving in Washington for a “Right to Life” rally on Monday, marking the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade. Read more…

Repeal is Job #1

Repealing health care is the next fight in the battle for life.

As pro-lifers return from this week’s March for Life in Washington, DC, there exist plenty of reasons for optimism.  In recent years pro-lifers have made impressive gains in the court of public opinion.  These gains have been the largest among America’s youth and the media reports of the March will undoubtedly express surprise at the number of students who were in attendance. Furthermore, even though recent statistics indicate that abortions increased slightly in 2008, the overall numbers have dropped by nearly 25 percent since the early 1990s. These are all good signs.  Unfortunately, amidst all this sunny news, one development from 2010 has the ability to undermine much of the hard fought progress the pro-life movement has made since the Roe v. Wade decision. That is, of course, this last spring’s passage of Obamacare. Read more…

Canadian Pro-life Students Face Expulsion

According to the Catholic Register (Canada), have been charged with non-academic misconduct for their graphic displays of the results of abortion:

The charges resulted from a Genocide Awareness Project display the group hosted April 8 and 9. Its display, which compares abortion to atrocities such as the Rwandan genocide and the Holocaust, had been hosted without incident eight times since 2006. On April 8, campus security allegedly asked the students to turn their signs inward or leave the campus grounds. They refused. Read more…

This news is old, but I must say I think it’s a good idea.

A see change

This story is spreading quickly. When anybody working in an abortion has a change of heart toward the unborn, it’s exceptional news. When the executive director of a Planned Parenthood quits her job after seeing what abortion does to a living human being, it’s an enormous learning moment.

That is sure what happened with Abby Johnson, who quit her position as head of a local Planned Parenthood chapter, and indeed, now works with pro lifers to help persuade women to make the choice of giving birth. Read more…
