This is how they fight…

June 2nd, 2011 10 comments

They’re the ones who control what gets broadcast to your television.  This is how they convince your neighbors, your children, your society.

They don’t want you to think.  They don’t want you to question what would happen if their plans come to fruition.  They just want you to watch, and be entertained.  Eventually, if you mind is sufficiently numb, you will come to agree.

Same-Sex Marriage and Human Fulfillment

Public recognition of unions contrary to human flourishing will hurt, not help, the happiness of those who participate in them.

Is there anything of substance to be gained for homosexuals from the current quest for same-sex marriage? Read more…

What types of unions have the highest rates of divorce?

May 19th, 2011 17 comments

(An old quiz from a Ruth Institute newsletter. How will this be helpful for children of SSM?)

Same sex couples have had the legal right to form domestic partnerships in several European countries.  Denmark was the first to introduce registered partnerships, in 1989. Norway was second, in 1993, then Sweden in 1995. Data from 2 of these landmark countries, Norway and Sweden, as well as California,  have been studied enough to answer this question:

What types of unions have the highest rates of divorce?

  • Opposite sex married couples: men and women are so different, it is a wonder they ever stay married.
  • Male unions: men are naturally less committed, and less monogamous, so their partnerships don’t endure.
  • Female unions: women get so emotionally distraught over things. A union of two women, without any male counter-balancing their roller-coaster, is very unstable.

Hint: the answer is the same in all three countries! Read more…

Doing What Comes Naturally?

Here is a video, shown at a GLBT Fun Sex Seminar event at Texas A&M, partially paid for with taxpayer money.  This video is so explicit, that You Tube requires you to affirm that you are over 18 to watch it.  This video was brought to light by Aggie Conservatives, who are asking to either defund this type of activity, or provide equal university funding for pro-abstinence, pro-family programming.

We are contantly told that homosexual activity is “normal,” at least for some people.  However, I doubt very seriously that heterosexuals have to be given explicit instruction of the “insert Tab A into Slot B” type shown in this video.  This suggests that anal penetration is either not “normal” after all, or that the objective of this video is to induce people who aren’t necessarily naturally drawn to anal sex, to try it.  How else should we interpret the guy’s comment at around 3:30 minutes?  ”Remember guys, it takes a lot of guts to be penetrated… Those of you who are brave enough to actually try this. ..”   Who needs this information? Who needs to be told this? If it is really so natural and normal as we have been told, who needs this particular kind of encouragement?  This looks for all the world like a recruiting video for anal sex.  What is the point and why should taxpayers fund this?

And, no, this is not a “safe sex” video, comparable to what takes place in mandatory high school health classes.  There was virtually nothing in this on preventing disease.  You can’t hide behind disease prevention in this case.

Suffer the Little Children: Cohabitation and the Abuse of America’s Children

May 5th, 2011 46 comments

Study after study confirms that children do best when raised by a married couple, and worse when reared by a cohabiting couple. Yet the ACLU has been pursuing a legal campaign against states that have adoption laws which favor married couples. And just last month the Arkansas Supreme Court bought the ACLU argument and struck down laws that banned adoption by cohabiters. But there is some good news: At the end of the month, Arizona’s governor approved a law giving preference to marriage couples. Brad Wilcox explains. Read more…

Same-sex attraction: a therapist’s view

Not everyone attracted to the same sex is happy about it. What help is there for those who want to change?

We hear a lot from people who claim they are happy with their homosexual or lesbian orientation and want social recognition for it. But what of people who are unhappy with their attraction to others of the same sex? What help is available and on what scientific and ethical grounds is it based? We asked Phillip Sutton, PhD, a licensed psychologist, therapist and counselor based in Indiana and Michigan in the US. Dr Sutton is also Editor of the Journal of Human Sexuality, a peer-reviewed scholarly publication of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) Read more…

‘Incredible’ victory for marriage, family

April 15th, 2011 59 comments

Charlie Butts – OneNewsNow -

The Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans has ruled to protect marriage and the natural family.

Two New York homosexuals adopted a Louisiana-born baby and then filed suit to try to force Louisiana to show both men as the child’s father on the birth certificate.

“That would be contrary to Louisiana law,” explains Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel and dean of the Liberty University School of Law. “The full court of appeals said that the Full Faith and Credit Clause may have to recognize some things, but certainly you do not have to and cannot force another state to act contrary to its own policy regarding marriage and family.” Read more…

Virginia Governor to Block Mandate Requiring Agencies to do Gay Adoptions

April 8th, 2011 41 comments

from NOM’s newsletter:

The Democratic administration of Tim Kaine left a little time bomb in the making for incoming Gov. Bob McDonnell, in the form of new regulations which would require all adoption and foster care agencies to do gay adoptions. The gay blogs flipped when we dubbed this the “mandatory gay adoption” regs, but that is just what they are. Sometimes the truth hurts! Read more…

Gender bending: let me count the ways

March 25th, 2011 35 comments

by Babette Francis

Few countries can be taking gender inclusiveness more seriously than Australia.

In the beginning there was male and female. Soon there was homosexuality. Later there were lesbians, and much later gays, bisexuals, transgenders and queers. But anyone who thinks LGBTQ is the full count of contemporary sexualities is sadly out of date. For example, the transgendered have for some time been divided into those who are awaiting treatment, those have had hormone treatment, those who have had hormones and surgery, and those who have had hormones and surgery but are not happy and want it all reversed. Here’s Greg Gutfeld:

So over in England (a country), some gay activists want to cancel a gay pride parade because it will cause “community tension,” between gays and Muslims.

The march was a response to anti-gay stickers placed around town, but some worry this event could hurt Muslim feelings. Read more…

THE LEFT’S ENDLESS CULTURE WAR

March 11th, 2011 76 comments

by Maggie Gallagher

After same-sex marriage, what next?

Many people are tired of the culture war. They’d like to throw in the towel and go back to “normal.”

There’s only one problem: The culture war will always be ongoing because the left is never going to stop waging it. You can never “give in” and be done with it — they will simply move on to the next item. Read more…

Students Have Right to Wear ‘Be Happy, Not Gay’ T-Shirt, 7th Circuit Appeals Court Rules

March 3rd, 2011 11 comments

ABAjournal.com:
The school argued (and still argues) that banning “Be Happy, Not Gay” was just a matter of protecting the ‘rights’ of the students against whom derogatory comments are directed. But people in our society do not have a legal right to prevent criticism of their beliefs or even their way of life.

So they needed a court to explain that citizens don’t have “…a legal right to prevent criticism of their beliefs or even their way of life…”, huh?

Well I’m just glad we got that cleared up.

Same-Sex Unions Are NOT Equal To Marriage

Originally this was intended to be a comment over on the Bringing Back Marriage: Encouraging Matrimony in the Next Generation thread. But I ended up deciding it would be better to ask the moderators to start a new thread.

Leland :@Heidi There is no sexual orientation test required to get married.

Maybe not, but the laws banning same-gender couples from marrying are obviously targeted at non-heterosexuals.

There are no such laws. You’re perfectly free to get ‘married’ to someone of the same sex if you want to – and legally bond yourself to that person in every other way you can think of as well. Read more…

San Diego firefighters victorious in suit against forced participation in gay pride parade

SAN DIEGO, California, January 28, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Four California firefighters forced to participate in a gay pride parade in July 2007 are victorious after the California Supreme Court this week refused to hear the city’s petition to review an appellate court decision last year.

The four men, led by Fire Capt. John Ghiotto of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, filed the suit against the city of San Diego for sexual harassment a month after a battalion chief directly ordered them to ride a fire engine in a lewd parade through the city streets. The men endured verbal abuse and come-ons, as well as overtly sexual gestures from the crowd. Read more…

Black ministers: Dr. King supported civil rights, not gay rights

King’s legacy and civil rights cause misrepresented by gays, says IFI

Chicago, IL — A group of Chicago-area ministers and political leaders will hold a press conference on Monday — the national Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday — denouncing any connection between civil rights and gay rights.

“The recent passage of the ‘civil unions’ bill has been trumpeted by some lawmakers as an achievement to civil rights. It is not,” the anti-gay Illinois Family Institute (IFI) said in a press release.

IFI and the Catholic Conference of Illinois lobbied hard to block the passage of the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act (SB 1716) in Illinois, which passed on Dec. 1, 2010.  Read more…

Witch-Hunt: Catholics4Equality debuts app to “report hostile activity” from the pew!

The latest Catholyc astoturf group “Catholics for Equality” (which I exposed a couple months ago) already had me deeply concerned when they introduced a “Report Anti-Equality Activity!” section on their webpage. Read more…

Catholics for Equality? Homosexual Equivalency Activists Foment Dissent

December 9th, 2010 2 comments

By Deacon Keith Fournier

Catholics for Equality has decided to take their fight against the Church into the very heart of our sacred worship spaces

Efforts to call homosexual acts morally acceptable and then force society to call relationships which are not capable of being marriages to be marriages is particularly egregious when engaged in by Catholics. Do not be deceived by “Catholics for Equality”. Thomas Peters is correct, “Catholics for Equality has decided to take their fight against the Church into the very heart of our sacred worship spaces.” Read more…
