from AFA ActionAlert

Earlier this month, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast was ordered to pay $4.3 million for making false, fraudulent and ineligible Medicaid claims through the Texas Women’s Health Program from 2003 to 2009.

Several former employees have filed lawsuits claiming they were instructed to repeatedly make false Medicaid claims. The alleged Medicaid fraud amount totals over $12 million for tens of thousands of false claims. Read more…

Planned Parenthood: $4.3M settlement ‘not an admission of guilt’

August 2nd, 2013 Comments off

by Charlie Butts

The cost to Texas Gulf Coast Planned Parenthood for Medicaid fraud is higher – in fact, three times higher – than originally reported.

Earlier this week, the Texas Attorney General’s office announced the abortion-provider would pay $1.4 million to settle claims of overbilling, fraudulent charges, and falsification of medical records. As it turns out, the bill is actually $4.3 million, with the balance going to the federal government and whistleblower Karen Reynolds. Read more…

President Obama and ‘Uncaring’ Pro-Lifers

Has he ever heard of Crisis Pregnancy Centers?

I remember being a teenager, growing up on the coast of Maine, and having heated conversations with friends about abortion. At some point in the discussion, I would be tossed a line that went something like: “You really don’t care about women. You and people like you don’t do anything for them.” My face would get red; I would sputter a bit, not knowing what to say (a common reaction for a teenage boy, the others being either sullenness or showy exasperation). The President needs a history lesson

May 2nd, 2013 Comments off

The President’s fulsome praise of Planned Parenthood ignores its shameful origin in racist eugenics.

In the spring of 1983, President Ronald Reagan did something highly unusual for a sitting president. He wrote and published an unsolicited article in The Human Life Review, titled “Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation.” In it, he denounced the “raw judicial power” by which the Supreme Court had dispossessed the unborn of their inalienable right to life in the Roe v. Wade decision, and mourned the some 15 million lives that had been snuffed out by abortion by that time. Read more…

April 23rd, 2013 Comments off

by Sheila Liaugminas

Not every abortionist, nor even most, nor maybe even any other abortionist commits the horrific violations of human life that Kermit Gosnell did, the details of which are on the public record in his ongoing trial. But the fact is, every abortionist ends a human life. Read more…

The Supreme Court’s First Assault on Marriage

March 18th, 2013 Comments off

by

This article was first published at The Public Discourse on March 11, 2013.

This year, the Supreme Court will render judgment on the institution of marriage. Though most of us don’t realize it, the Court first did so forty-one years ago in Eisenstadt v. Baird, a decision that gravely wounded marriage and set the nation on a course of gradual debilitation by ruling that states could not restrict the sale of contraceptives to unmarried people. Pro-choice now ‘reproductive health’ … still pro-killing

January 28th, 2013 Comments off

by Charlie Butts

With fewer and fewer young people identifying as pro-abortion, the abortion industry is attempting to change its image. But one expert says ditching the term “pro-choice” won’t change that fact.

Hawkins, Kristan (Students for Life)Nancy Keenan, the president of the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL), is stepping down. Her group, Planned Parenthood, and the like support laws that do things like provide taxpayer-funded abortions for any reason through the ninth month of pregnancy. And as Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life of America (SFLA) tells OneNewsNow, young people are increasingly against that extreme stance.
