Condomism in Switzerland

March 5th, 2010

There seem to be a class of people who believe that any problem in the world can be solved if only there were enough condoms.

One problem with this theory is that condoms might not properly fit the pre-teen set.  The Swiss have come up with a brilliant solution.

Extra small condoms for boys as young as 12 could soon be on our shelves.

The Hotshot condoms are going on sale in Switzerland after research found that not enough 12 to 14-year-old boys were having protected sex.

Did you catch that use of language there?  “not enough 12 to 14 year old boys were having protected sex.”  They didn’t say “too many 12 to 14 year old boys were having unprotected sex.  They (heaven forbid) didn’t say “too many 12 to 14 year old boys were having sex.”

It sounds like someone, somewhere has mentally made a quota for the amount of protected sex that young boys should be having, and those pesky young boys weren’t putting out enough to meet those quotas.  Is that really a problem?  Does anybody copy edit the Daily Mail?

Hilary Pannack, of teenage pregnancy charity Straight Talking Peer Education, said: ‘We know young people are having sex and if this is what it takes to protect them, we need to go along with it.’

Yeah.  I’m sure kiddie condoms ares the only possible solution.

Heaven help us.

Seeing as how a study was recently released showing that men are more likely to pull condoms off midway through sex due to poor fit. I don’t think anyone is mature enough to be having sex at ages 12-14, but better they do it safer then wear the wrong size or none at all.
