[...] The latest incarnation of the sex radicals’ agenda requires elimination of all differences between same sex couples and opposite sex couples. The provincial government of Quebec issued a policy called the “Quebec Policy Against Homophobia,” which declared its opposition to all discrimination in the workplace, the school, the family and the sporting field. They also declare their determination to eliminate “heteronormativity,” the view that heterosexuality is normal. Since heterosexuality is normal, eliminating this view simply can’t be done. Hence, they’ve written themselves another conveniently blank check for unlimited intervention into civil society. See posts here, here, and here. [...]

No, Dr. Karen Hofman it is not the homosexuals who are a threat, it it the laws that purportedly protect them that are a threat to the rest of us. You's think that would be obvious from the conversation thus far.

Let's put the issues in context. Perhaps 5 percent, or even less, of the human population consider homosexuality and same-sex relationships, even marriage, an expression of normality from their perspective. That 5 percent is no threat to the 95 percent who are heterosexual. Heterosexuality has, and always will, be the overwhelmingly dominant lifestyle. So the question is: why do we consider the 5 percent (or less) of the population to be so threatening to the 95 percent? The analogy is similar between Jews, who are fewer than 1 percent of faith groups, and the 99 percent of non-Jews, some of whom consider Jews a threat to the whole world....

The other thing that homosexism doesn't seem to recognize is that trying to make heterosexism illegal is a violation of the very rights they are claiming to be in support of. Heterosexuals have as much right to be Heterosexual, as Homosexuals do to be Homosexual. Regardless of your views of the other. And no Human being has any right to harrass, bully, or otherwise deliberately inflict physical harm on anyone because they hold to an apposing view; Or to make said apposing view illegal - It is called freedom of speech.

So how will anyone find a mate? Anyone asking someone of the opposite sex out would be in contravention of the law (heterosexism), as would anyone asking someone of the same sex out (homosexism).
On reading that paragraph again I see that there is no mention of wiping out homosexism. Hmmm.

These laws certainly prove how distorted the thinking of many has become. Good luck trying to change the social norm. It will become very clear once the demographic changes occur so that the population growth is zero or less that homosexuals will not be the ones to reverse the situation through natural means -- now or then!!

This is one of the problems with the debate. "Heterosexuality" is no mere "orientation" -- if it were then statements like "taking for granted that all people are heterosexual" would make sense.

But "heterosexuality" is a much bigger topic than sexual attraction -- a truth that not even gays and lesbians can escape when they visit the fertility clinic. ALL People -- humankind itself -- is heterosexual. Every one of us, without exception, is a direct result of the union of exactly one man and one woman.

Arbitrary and capricious, i know. But there it is.
